The group performs both instrumental and vocal music, with options ranging from relaxed background ambience to interactive dancing.
Founded from a West Indies musical tradition and continued in the Washington, DC area by bandleader Peter Humphrey, Oasis Island Sounds draws influence from artists including Harry Belafonte, Andy Narell, Bob Marley, Mighty Sparrow, Arrow, Miriam Makeba, UB40, and Jimmy Buffett. Repertoire examples include “Hot Hot Hot,” “Three Little Birds,” “Jamaica Farewell,” “Red Red Wine,” “Margaritaville,” “La Bamba,” “Stand By Me,” and original Oasis Island Sounds material.
