The FUNK Jam

Created by A.J. Johnson more than a decade ago, The Funk Jam is a completely spontaneous live-music experience fueled by some of Las Vegas’ finest musicians. A.J. often begins with a core unit, but once the music starts, the lineup can change at any moment as top Vegas players and vocalists join the stage, sometimes right in the middle of a jam. There is no rigid setlist and no predetermined path. Funk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Rock, and Dance influences come together as musicians follow the groove, trade ideas, and build the music in real time. That unpredictability is central to The Funk Jam. Every performance is shaped by the players who show up, the chemistry they create, and the energy in the room, giving audiences a one-of-a-kind glimpse into the depth and creativity of the Las Vegas music community.
