Xaxa James

XAXA is a New York City-based singer-songwriter whose live performances blend contemporary pop, R&B, soul, and acoustic songwriting with an engaging, rhythm-driven style. A graduate of musical theater, he combines expressive vocals with percussive guitar playing and live looping to create a full, dynamic sound as a solo performer.

His original music includes the acoustic EP Soul Searching along with a growing catalog of singles and live studio performances. In addition to his solo work he is always expanding his sound with a full-band format while continuing to write and release original music.

Performance credits include opening for Ballyhoo!, The Original Wailers, Inner Circle, Badfish, The Supervillains, and G. Love, as well as appearances with Sofar Sounds. Beyond guitar and vocals, he is also an accomplished world percussionist, bringing additional depth and versatility to select performances.
