About
PROFESSIONAL AND EXPERIENCED EMCEE
Alan grew up in Southern California, where he attended high school and college, majoring in music. His musical journey began in the 5th grade with clarinet studies, and by 9th grade, he had formed his first band while studying privately with a former clarinetist from the NY Philharmonic Orchestra. By his senior year of high school, Alan had expanded his instrumental range to include the saxophone. He also held a steady weekend gig at a local restaurant, worked two seasons as a character in Disneyland’s Fantasy on Parade, and attended jazz summer school after graduation. He played in his college’s jazz band while receiving private lessons from a veteran jazz saxophonist/teacher and began taking voice lessons for the first time.
After college, Alan performed in lounge bands throughout California and toured the western U.S., during which he wrote and recorded his first songs. While raising a son, he took on a ten-year career as an executive in the insurance industry. This experience proved invaluable, helping him develop strong client relations and interpersonal skills that would later support his reentry into the entertainment world. During this time, he also embarked on a side career as a club DJ, took a public speaking class, and recorded his first radio voiceover commercials for Black Angus Steakhouse.
In 1990, Alan moved to Las Vegas to explore its vast entertainment opportunities. He spent the first eight years performing in casino lounges, studying the flute and congas. Later, he transitioned into acting and modeling, securing corporate music jobs, TV commercials, and corporate video work. As an MC, Alan became a regular at casino tournaments and cash giveaways, including a five-year run at the MGM Grand where he averaged three events a month. He also did slot promotion work at Caesar’s Palace and other major locations for over six years.
To further enhance his craft, Alan studied acting and percussion with local experts, traveled to California for ear prompting training, and resumed voice lessons to support his singing. Around this time, he recorded his smooth jazz CD People, which continues to generate online sales. Expanding his entertainment repertoire, he became a DJ for weddings, charity events, and private parties, while also venturing into karaoke hosting, orchestrating and judging singing contests.
Today, Alan thrives in Las Vegas, leveraging its diverse venues to continue growing and performing as a versatile entertainer.
